Welcome Weeks? Worthwhile Wisdom!
Have you started your journey as a doctoral researcher or postdoc at the University of Stuttgart this year? Then we’ve got something special for you: our Welcome Weeks. Starting on October 23, we’ll be extending you a warm welcome at the University of Stuttgart, and each week, we’ll provide you with worthwhile wisdom for your academic career.

For whom and why?
A new career stage always comes with new challenges. During the Welcome Weeks, you can find out what wide-ranging support services are available at our university to help you along the way. Even if you’ve studied here before and are now pursuing your PhD or if you’ve earned your doctorate here and are now stepping into a postdoc position – you’ll be wonderfully surprised by the wealth of useful events and services tailored just for you.

When and where?
Our festive opening event kicks off on October 23 at 2:00 p.m. in lecture hall V47.02, Pfaffenwaldring 47. The Vice Rector for Early Career Researchers and Diversity, Prof. Dr. Judith Tonhauser, will warmly welcome you to the University of Stuttgart. You’ll also hear from doctoral researchers and postdocs who have already had a successful start into their new career stage and are ready to share their insights with you. Afterwards, you will also get to know the wide variety of university institutions that will support you in your first steps and have the opportunity of chatting with your peers during our “Welcome Weeks Foyer of Possibilities” – complete with drinks and finger food in a warm, welcoming atmosphere in Pfaffenwaldring 47.

What’s next? From the Winter Semester’s Start to the Winter Holidays
From October to December, you’ll benefit from weekly workshops, webinars, and well-informed talks – held both online and on campus – offering you wise advice, well-timed tips, and valuable guidance as you settle into this exciting new stage of your academic career.
